Adoration Along The Way: A New Christian Blog

Updated: Aug 16, 2022

Adoration is the fullness, the height and depth, the length and breadth of praise. Adoration is to prostrate yourself in the dust in humility and yet to soar aloft in sublime thought—to sink into nothing and yet to be so enlarged as to be filled with all the fullness of God.[1]

Charles Spurgeon

I have grown fond of this magnificent quote by Spurgeon about what adoration is. The mindset of this quote is precisely what I pray for the writings on this site to display. A humble heart that is full of affection to God. This new blog site is based on a lesson I have grown to appreciate over the years. We are to praise God in the valleys of life just as much if not more than on the mountain tops of life. This is not a statement about how often we pray as much as a statement on the manner and substance of our prayers. A heart that adores our Lord should be characteristic of our daily life.

Through this lesson, I found renewal in my prayer and devotional life. This rejuvenation grew forth from the understanding of a simple fact. God is eternally the same in the good, the bad, and the ugly of our life. While I knew the fact that God is eternal, I don’t think I fully comprehended how this impacted our personal lives until I truly examined the Psalms.

The Psalms present people who are transparent, revealing their inner and outer heartache, and frequently even their own particular questions about God. However, when you examine the Psalms, notably those of lament, you observe usually objections are followed by announcements of confidence and adoration. Just like the psalmist, our circumstances may change, yet our God never does. He eternally deserves of our devotion.

I have several interests that comprise church history, theology, and preaching. All based on the transformational power of God’s Word and Spirit in our life! I hope to write on these with the attitude of expressing adoration to God. This site seeks to share hope with this world by engaging the Word of God and those who’ve devoted their lives to it with a humble heart.

My prayer is that God uses this website to draw both myself and readers nearer to Him. Life as we know it is a journey. I pray with each day we migrate closer to Him who created us. As for this traveler, he seeks to give adoration to God along the way.
